Feng Shui Element
The five elements are an integral part of feng shui basics so it’s important for you to understand each feng shui element and how it can affect your environment. These elements are a representation of both you and your surroundings. In order to determine how to effectively use the elements in your home, you must first find out which element you are associated with. This is done by matching the year of your birth to the proper element. To further incorporate elements into your surroundings, you must use the map bagua to figure out the areas of your room or home that you want to improve and then use the elements needed for that purpose.
To understand the way each feng shui element works, you have to first understand the productive and destructive cycles that govern the way the elements interact with each other. Both cycles are continuous, allowing all five elements to balance each other to create harmony. The productive cycle demonstrates how each element produces or helps to create another and the destructive cycle demonstrates how each element destroys another. Once you determine you own element, you will be able to figure out the element that is productive towards you and the one that is destructive. All you need to do is incorporate more of the productive element and less of the destructive.
Here is a complete list of each feng shui element and the colors and objects that can be used to represent that element.
